Aristea Gkioxari is a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Dietetics and Nutritional Science in Harokopio University of Athens, Greece. Upon completing her BSc- and MSc studies in the Science of Nutrition and Dietetics, she proceeded to PhD studies investigating the health effects of a terpenoid rich resin on chemical induced colitis and colon cancer cell lines. She participated in a number of research projects; authored/co-authored scientific publications in international refereed journals; presented her work in several international/national conferences and she is reviewer in peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests include studying the bioactivity of phytochemicals and natural products using animal experimental models, cell cultures and clinical trials, investigating the bioactive compounds and their role in biological pathways, studying the bioavailability of phytochemicals from natural products in humans, extraction and isolation of bioactive compounds from natural products.

From January 2017 to September 2017 Aristea Gkioxari was seconded to Perspectum-Diagnostics in Oxford, where she has been trained in the use of LiverMultiScan for the analysis of MAST4HEALTH trial data. She has also attended the installation of LiverMultiScan protocol in several clinical sites. From September 2017 to January 2018, she was seconded to RANDOX GLOBAL HEALTH care, where she was trained in state-to-the-art technology of biochip immunoassay and analyzed projects’ biological samples.
